Some people think that Technology upgradation has widened the gap between the rich and the poor. Others think that it is causing the opposite effect. Discuss both the views and give your opinion. Others think that it is causing the opposite effect. Discuss both the views and give your opinion.

Exponential developments in technology have driven economic growth all over the world. However, the proverbial pie is getting bigger, unfortunately, it is not being shared with everyone .a school of thought deems that technology is the answer to poverty, but in fact, the opposite seems to be true. Currently, the disparity between the rich and the rest of the world is larger than ever before. Although it is not easy to blame technology for its role in inequality yet many ways it is responsible

In intellectual history, progress meant greater equality better education, larger and healthier lives, an increase in jobs option and more freedom. However, the skilled and expert human capital acquired most of the highly paid jobs from the unskilled. This has widened the gap between the rich and the poor thus leaving the unskilled homeless and in miserable conditions. Sadly the situation would further worsen in the next few decades, as artificial intelligence (A.I) would soon replace human beings in most of the fields. To exemplify, the invention of driverless cars, automation of banks, departmental stores and even nursing would leave many jobless. The same has already been seen in Seattle in the US, where poverty has risen to a larger extent. the rich who can afford this technology make a one-time investment and save a lot, therefore which they would have paid as salary.

In contrast, those who had just a single source of earning found themselves drowned in poverty. Still more, as not every person is tech-savvy, the activities like shopping, banking, medication might become a herculean task for them, Thus leaving them in dilemma and discouraged in the absence of any assistance. Overall the well-being of people would be adversely affected.

Notwithstanding this, natives of developed regions believe computerization would help avoid immigration from developing areas in the world, thus enabling them to preserve their flora and fauna by not indulging in further development. This would, indeed, allow them to save the next generations. Moreover, the development of artificial intelligence is compelling  the progeny to be more innovative and creative so as to survive in this competitive era.

On the face of it, I aver that it is the need of the hour to motivate the students to figure out how they can contribute towards making their planet and societies a better place to live in, instead of planning how they can earn.
