Television is a very important source of information and entertainment these days .there are hundred of channels which show a variety of programs based on music, movies, drama, fiction and reality. these days game shows are getting more popular .people are excited to participate in game shows and quiz shows because they are fascinated by the prizes and awards given in these programs. here I would like to talk about one such program and its name is 'Kaun Banega crorepati'. it is actually an Indian version of popular American tv show 'who will be the millionaire' and it is telecast on sony television every weekend at 8pm and its duration is 1-hour .the host of this show is well renowned 'Amitabh Bachchan'.
it is actually a quiz contest in which Amitabh ask 15 questions to the contestants every question has four options and the contestants select the correct answer. these questions are totally based on general awareness. the quiz starts with a very easy question for each correct answer the contestants win prize money and the complexity level and the prize money grows with each question .for correctly answering all the 15 questions one can win 10 million rupees which are a huge sum of money.
the interesting part of this show is four lifelines .the participants can make a phone call to friends and family and get help to find the answer in 60 seconds. another lifeline is 50 -50 in which two wrong answers are eliminated. moreover, in the difficult situation participants can also take the audience's help the lifeline is called audience pole. the people present in-game show, they give ratings to the 4 options and the option which gets maximum voting is considered to be the right answer . in the last lifeline, contestants can also ask help from experts. I like this show for several reasons, firstly this game show helps me to gain general knowledge because through these questions I learn a lot about the history and culture of my country. moreover, the host of this show is my favorite actor.
